Security Officer – Hotel Security

About the role

The Security Officer will safeguard the ibis Thane hotel by monitoring all security points, responding to incidents, and supporting guests, staff and management. Working under the direction of the Director of Security, you will rotate through various duty posts to ensure a safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the duty roster and cover posts such as the security control room, lobby, loading bay, patrolling, back‑of‑house, and VIP parking.
• Ensure all security systems operate correctly and take immediate corrective action when faults arise.
• Assist management, employees and guests in line with protection and prevention objectives.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies during routine operations and emergencies.
• Monitor back‑of‑house areas, control unauthorized entry/exit, and maintain accurate log books.
• Report incidents to the Manager or Crisis Management Team and keep them updated during crises.
• Conduct inventory of keys, passes, walkie‑talkies, pagers and other accountable items.
• Maintain cleanliness of the security room and stay familiar with fire and life‑safety procedures.
• Attend briefings, meetings and training sessions as required.

Required profile

• Secondary or high‑school education.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant security experience.
• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• No criminal record.
• Well‑presented and professionally groomed at all times.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
• First‑Aid certification.
• Basic fire‑fighting training.
• Operation of hotel security systems and inventory management.
