About the role
We are seeking a qualified Scrub Nurse to support surgeons in a busy multispecialty hospital. The role involves direct assistance during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and smooth workflow.
Key responsibilities
- Provide instruments, sutures, and supplies to the surgeon as the 1st Assistant, anticipating needs and maintaining aseptic technique.
- Perform tissue handling, retraction, suction, hemostasis, wound closure, and accurate counts of instruments, needles, sponges, and swabs.
- Assist the 2nd Assistant by supporting retraction, positioning, and intra‑operative requirements, and help with surgical dressing and wound care.
- Manage specimen labeling and transfer, and uphold infection‑control and patient‑safety protocols throughout each operation.
Required profile
- Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an OT Nurse or Operation Theatre Assistant in a reputable multispecialty hospital.
