Sales Staff – Customer Service & Counter Sales

About the role

Bakery B is looking for a friendly, full‑time Sales Staff member to join its front‑of‑house team in Ernakulam. You will be the first point of contact for customers, helping them choose from a wide range of freshly baked breads, cakes, pastries and snacks while providing clear information on ingredients, prices and promotions.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, understand their needs and recommend suitable bakery products.
• Manage the display counter, label items and keep the sales area tidy and well‑presented.
• Handle billing, cash transactions and POS operations, and pack orders for dine‑in or takeaway.
• Monitor front‑counter stock, coordinate refills with the kitchen team and ensure product availability.
• Follow food‑safety and hygiene guidelines, address customer feedback politely and support colleagues during busy periods, including weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and work in a team.
• Reliability in following shift schedules, especially weekends and festive seasons.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift light to moderate bakery items.
• Basic English and strong communication in local languages.

Required skills

• POS system operation (or willingness to learn).
• Basic math and cash‑handling abilities.
