Rolling Stock Electrical Engineer & Project Manager

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking an experienced Rolling Stock Professional with a strong background in electrical/electronics engineering to lead the design and delivery of power electronic converters for rail applications. Based in Nashik, the role involves both technical development and project management responsibilities, supporting our mission to create intelligent mobility solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, develop, validate, and introduce power electronic traction and auxiliary converters/inverters for rail customers.
• Create power schemes, perform system simulations, and validate converter performance.
• Select and design components such as magnetics, heat sinks, capacitors, contactors, resistors, fuses, blowers, low‑inductive busbars, and cables.
• Develop component specifications, test strategies, and cooling solutions (air and water‑cooled).
• Apply PLM processes, conduct FMEA, and ensure compliance with IEC, EN, and IS rail standards.
• Plan and execute projects, monitor cost‑reduction measures, and manage cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• 5–15 years of engineering experience in design of converters/inverters for rail or industrial applications.
• Proven ability to lead projects from concept through production.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, electrical system design, and control electronics.
• Familiarity with risk assessment, problem‑solving tools (A3, 8D) and cost‑analysis.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills in English.
