Risk Data Engineer

About the role

As a Risk Data Engineer in ANZ’s Risk Metrics & Measurement team, you will design and deliver scalable data solutions that enable effective risk management, regulatory reporting and data‑driven decision‑making across New Zealand Risk.

Key responsibilities

• Use SAS 9.4, SAS Viya and SQL to extract, transform and analyse large data sets stored in platforms such as Teradata and Oracle.
• Automate and optimise data pipelines to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
• Collaborate with risk analysts, business stakeholders and IT partners to translate requirements into robust data models.
• Maintain strong data governance, quality and compliance in line with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.

Required profile

• 7 + years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Proven track record of delivering data solutions for risk, regulatory reporting or audit environments.
• Deep understanding of data governance, data quality and compliance frameworks.
• Experience modernising legacy data processes and migrating to newer platforms.
