Research Analyst

About the role

The Research Analyst will support the investment team by building, maintaining and analysing large macro‑ and micro‑level databases. The role involves extracting data from leading providers, interpreting industry trends and delivering actionable investment ideas for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Extract and collate datasets from vendors such as Bloomberg, Reuters and Cline, organising them into macro, micro, sectoral and valuation categories.
• Analyse industry growth trends using both top‑down (international asset class, country, sector) and bottom‑up approaches.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of companies within assigned sectors, employing ratio, time‑series and cross‑sectional techniques.
• Meet with company management to understand sector dynamics, future plans and to project medium‑ and long‑term earnings.
• Prepare investment arguments, research reports, morning notes, sales notes and contribute to weekly and strategic reports.
• Disseminate research findings to investors and clients, supporting their investment decisions.
• Participate in industry conferences and produce articles for media outlets to raise the research team’s visibility.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to handle large, complex datasets.
• Excellent understanding of financial markets and industry dynamics.
• Ability to communicate research findings clearly to both internal teams and external clients.
• Proactive attitude towards continuous learning and staying updated on market developments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bloomberg data services.
• Proficiency with Reuters data services.
• Experience using Cline or similar data providers.
• Ratio analysis.
