Reporter & Sub Editor (Delhi)

About the role

The Hindu Group is seeking enthusiastic journalism professionals to join its Delhi editorial team as a Reporter cum Sub Editor. You will be responsible for covering a range of beats, producing accurate news stories, and supporting editorial workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep knowledge of assigned beats such as politics, business, education, entertainment, or sports.
• Build and maintain a network of reliable sources to stay ahead of news developments.
• Gather information, conduct interviews, and write compelling news stories that meet journalistic standards.
• Demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English and the local language for effective communication.
• Be available for breaking news coverage, including evenings and weekends.
• Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and impartiality.
• Collaborate with editors, photographers, and other newsroom staff to deliver comprehensive coverage.

Required profile

• 0–3 years of experience in reporting, journalism, or editorial roles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the local language(s).
• Excellent news sense, editing ability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced newsroom environment.
• Passion for storytelling and current affairs.
