Quality Assurance Specialist – Valve Components

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to ensure product quality from raw material inspection through final dispatch in a valve manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will work closely with production, engineering, purchasing and stores to maintain high standards of dimensional accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in‑process and final inspection of valve and brass components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore, plug, ring, thread, air gauges and profile projectors.
• Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI) and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Prepare and maintain PPAP, control plans, PFMEA, process flow charts, inspection standards and 8D reports.
• Investigate quality issues using root‑cause analysis (5 Why, fishbone) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor rejection, rework, scrap and PPM performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate internal, customer and third‑party audits and ensure instrument calibration and traceability.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems and contribute to Kaizen and lean initiatives.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly quality MIS reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control within valve manufacturing or precision machining.
• Strong knowledge of valve manufacturing processes and engineering drawings.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, control plans and 8D reporting.
• Proficiency in root‑cause analysis, CAPA and ISO quality systems.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across functions.

• PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, control plans, 8D reports.
• Root‑cause analysis techniques (5 Why, fishbone diagram) and CAPA.
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 compliance.
• ERP systems – SAP preferred.
• Microsoft Excel proficiency.
