QC Engineer – Mechanical Inspection (CT/PT Transformers)

About the role

The Quality Control Engineer will ensure that CT/PT transformers and their mechanical components meet strict quality standards. You will work closely with production, design, and stores teams to perform inspections, document findings, and drive corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑process and final inspections of transformers, raw materials, bought‑out parts, fabricated components, and assemblies.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, fitment, welding quality, surface finish, and overall assembly compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and inspection standards.
• Prepare inspection reports, check sheets, non‑conformance reports (NCRs), and maintain quality records.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve quality issues and support root‑cause analysis.
• Assist in incoming, in‑process, and final inspection activities and ensure traceability of results.
• Support internal and customer audits and inspections as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 1 year of QC/QA experience, preferably in CT/PT transformer, electrical equipment, fabrication, or manufacturing.
• Fresh graduates with relevant internships or training may be considered.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance principles.
• Proficiency with mechanical measurement tools: Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T basics.
• Familiarity with welding and fabrication inspection.
• Understanding of the 7 QC tools, 5 Why analysis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and CAPA processes.
• Good documentation skills and basic use of MS Excel and MS Word.
