Purchase Officer (Vendor Management)

About the role

Amrutam is seeking a proactive Purchase Officer to lead vendor identification, onboarding, and ongoing relationship management for raw materials, packaging, and other supply needs. The role focuses on ensuring quality, ethical sourcing, and cost‑effective procurement aligned with the company’s Ayurvedic wellness mission.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify potential new vendors, evaluate them against quality and ethical standards, and manage the onboarding process.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned vendors, handling inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining strong long‑term partnerships.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements; draft, review, and manage vendor contracts.
• Track and analyze vendor performance metrics, conduct regular reviews, and implement corrective actions.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously explore cost‑optimization opportunities without compromising reliability or quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vendor identification, onboarding, and relationship management.
• Strong negotiation and contract‑management capabilities.
• Analytical mindset for performance monitoring and risk mitigation.
