Public Relations Manager

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Manager of Public Relations to lead our corporate communications at UPES, a top‑ranked private university in Dehradun. The role will shape internal and external messaging, build media relationships, and safeguard the university’s reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive communication plans for internal and external audiences.
• Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers and act as primary media contact.
• Draft and distribute press releases, media kits and other PR collateral.
• Create and implement crisis communication strategies, providing timely responses and acting as spokesperson when needed.
• Lead internal communication initiatives, including newsletters, memos and employee engagement content.
• Produce high‑quality written content such as blog posts, articles and presentations aligned with the university’s brand voice.
• Engage with key stakeholders including investors, community organisations and government agencies.
• Monitor media trends, conduct analysis and report on PR performance using KPIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field; certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in corporate communications or public relations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong media relations network and crisis management experience.
