Project Co-ordinator, Remote Monitoring Systems

About the role

SELCO Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation promoting decentralised renewable energy in under-served communities across India, is setting up a centralised Control Room to monitor and analyse data from remote monitoring systems (RMS) on solar-powered livelihood projects in rural India. It is looking for a Project Co-ordinator for RMS Operations and Analytics in Bengaluru, starting immediately, to coordinate field teams, RMS vendors and the analytics team.

Key responsibilities

• Track and coordinate the order, dispatch and delivery of RMS devices between manufacturer and installation vendor, acting as the main point of contact.
• Train installation partners on RMS device installation and track installations via WhatsApp groups and an online tracker.
• Support pre- and post-installation IP ping tests and data-flow checks, and communicate device or dashboard issues to vendors while tracking resolutions.
• Log, report and manage rectification or replacement of faulty meters.
• Support dashboard design, data cleaning and troubleshooting, and collect data from program and field teams.
• Prepare bi-weekly reports on installation progress, device health and dashboard updates for the RMS vendor, and help document learnings from RMS analysis.
• Make regular field visits to check system functionality and build the local team's capacity to run and maintain the RMS solution.
• Raise material requests, give dashboard training to field staff, verify installation and asset handover reports, and support other assignments from the supervisor or manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, electronics or related field), data analytics or a related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in technical operations, remote monitoring systems or data analytics roles preferred.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, attention to detail, ability to travel for field visits, and motivation to learn new technology.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and data management software.
• Understanding of energy flow in renewable energy systems.
• Knowledge of R/Python for data analytics is an added advantage.
