Professor / Associate Professor in Product & Interior Design

About the role

Amity School of Design is seeking experienced academics to join its faculty team as Professor, Associate Professor or Assistant Professor. The role involves teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Product Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design and UX‑UI, while contributing to the school’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality lectures, tutorials and studio sessions for B.Des, B.ID and M.ID programmes.
• Develop and update curricula aligned with industry trends and academic standards.
• Mentor and supervise student projects, theses and dissertations.
• Conduct research, publish in Scopus‑indexed journals and secure research funding.
• Collaborate with industry partners for live projects, internships and knowledge exchange.
• Participate in departmental meetings, accreditation activities and community outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. (desirable) or Ph.D. thesis submitted; M.Des/M.Tech and a bachelor’s degree in interior design or related fields.
• Graduation from leading Indian or international institutions; preference for candidates with international exposure.
• Strong research track record with publications in Scopus‑indexed journals.
• Prior university‑level teaching experience is an advantage.
• Industry experience in design fields is welcomed.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Specialisation in Industrial Design, Parametric Design, Retail Design, Interior Design, Furniture Design, Product Design or UX‑UI.
• Research methodology and academic publishing.
