Production Shift Leader

About the role

ABB is looking for a Production Shift Leader to supervise a shift team in its Smart Buildings division in Nelamangala, Bangalore Region, India. You will be responsible for ensuring that production plans are executed efficiently, resources are optimally used, and quality and safety standards are maintained throughout the shift.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee shift activities to guarantee smooth execution of production schedules and optimal utilization of machinery and equipment.
• Coordinate with the unit supervisor to allocate tasks, manage staff movements during absences or machine breakdowns, and maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Monitor performance metrics such as production volume, efficiency, and on‑time delivery, providing feedback and recommendations to management.
• Lead the team in resolving technical, quality, and logistical issues while ensuring strict compliance with health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or BE in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Exposure to Production Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing concepts, and workplace efficiency.
• Basic understanding of production planning, job allotment, and task scheduling.
• Ability to manage manpower, machines, and materials effectively on the shop floor.
• Familiarity with safety practices and structured, process‑driven production environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
