Production Operator – Rewinder Machinery

About the role

As a Production Operator in Hitachi Energy’s Insulation & Components team, you will operate Rewinder machinery to produce high‑quality insulation paper for transformers. The role involves working on a rotating shift schedule while ensuring a safe, hazard‑free environment and adhering to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, start, and monitor Rewinder machines, performing routine safety checks before each shift.
• Continuously observe production output, identify product defects, and take corrective actions to maintain quality.
• Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety records; follow SOPs and report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately.
• Conduct visual inspections, remove defective material, and perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of the machinery.
• Package finished rolls according to guidelines, label products correctly, and communicate stock or equipment concerns to management.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, ISO procedures, and applicable external regulations.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work rotating A, B, and C shifts.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Required skills

• Operation of Rewinder machinery.
• Use of measurement tools such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers and Measuring Tapes.
• Knowledge of safety practices and quality control in machine operations.
