Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will lead end‑to‑end procurement activities, ensuring smooth import‑export operations, vendor performance, and inventory optimization for a food‑and‑agribusiness environment. This individual contributor or team‑lead position works closely with banks, logistics partners, internal stakeholders, and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Scrutinize, negotiate and process Letters of Credit (sight, usance) in coordination with banks.
• Manage import and export documentation for sea and air freight, monitor shipments, and provide regular tracking reports.
• Generate periodic shipment, order, sales and purchase reports and communicate updates to customers.
• Design and maintain dashboards to track quality, productivity and effectiveness.
• Coordinate with vendors to ensure product and shipment readiness, overseeing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
• Optimize inventory at origin using ROP, JIT, VMI, MRP, scheduling and call‑off processes.
• Drive continuous improvement, enforce SLAs and benchmark supplier performance.
• Lead vendor lifecycle management, onboarding, auditing and compliance activities.
• Evaluate, rate and monitor suppliers, focusing on cost, quality and delivery metrics.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior team members.

Required profile

• 7‑9 years of experience in procurement operations, strategic sourcing and vendor management within food, agribusiness or FMCG sectors.
• 2‑4 years of experience managing small to mid‑size teams.
• Strong exposure to import‑export processes, shipping logistics and documentation handling.
