Procurement Specialist – Direct Materials

About the role

CAPGRID is seeking a proactive Procurement Specialist to manage the end‑to‑end sourcing of direct materials for its consumer‑durables operations. The role ensures uninterrupted supply, optimal inventory levels, and cost‑effective purchasing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute procurement of direct materials to meet customer demand.
• Maintain on‑time‑in‑full (OTIF) deliveries and safety‑stock inventory targets.
• Release purchase orders, monitor receipts, and coordinate with suppliers.
• Drive cost‑optimization initiatives and track procurement KPIs such as freight premiums and inventory control.
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and maintain MIS, scorecards, and procurement documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Stores, Logistics, Quality, and Finance to ensure smooth material flow and timely payments.
• Update supplier master data and ERP records while ensuring compliance with internal processes.

Required profile

• 2–10 years of experience in direct‑material procurement or purchasing within the consumer‑durables sector.
• B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent bachelor's degree.
• Strong understanding of procurement planning, supplier management, and inventory control.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
