Procurement Officer – Maritime Fleet

About the role

Wilhelmsen is seeking a Procurement Officer to support its global fleet operations. You will work closely with Procurement Managers, Vessel Managers and external suppliers to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods and services for vessels worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities aligned with vessel schedules, avoiding avoidable delays.
• Raise, manage and follow‑up Purchase Orders, quotations and related documentation.
• Collaborate daily with Procurement and Vessel Managers to meet operational needs.
• Support cost control by obtaining competitive quotations and challenging inconsistencies.
• Coordinate delivery status, documentation and issue resolution with suppliers.
• Resolve routine and urgent supply issues, escalating when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, systems and approval workflows.
• Monitor order and invoice status for accuracy and timely processing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and service delivery.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of maritime procurement or purchasing experience.
• Familiarity with vessel operations, spares and logistics.
• Strong organisational and follow‑up discipline.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
• Clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• BASSnet or similar procurement system.
