Procurement Officer (International Non‑Profit)

About the role

Jhpiego, an international non‑profit health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, is seeking a Procurement Officer to ensure efficient, transparent, and compliant procurement processes across its programs. The role will support the acquisition of goods and services, manage vendor relationships, and coordinate with finance and program teams to meet organizational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply Jhpiego procurement policies, ensuring compliance with donor regulations.
• Process procurement requests in line with approved budgets, delegation of authority, and internal procedures.
• Obtain necessary approvals, solicit quotations, conduct market assessments, and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders, monitor delivery schedules, and verify receipt of goods and services.
• Support the development and issuance of RFPs, RFQs, and other bidding documents; manage bid invitations, openings, evaluations, and procurement committee meetings.
• Act as the single point of contact throughout the procurement lifecycle, coordinating with internal stakeholders, vendors, partners, and service providers.
• Track grant‑related procurement activities, ensuring deliverables, timelines, and contractual obligations are met.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of procurement policies and donor compliance requirements.
• Experience in managing end‑to‑end procurement cycles, including vendor selection and contract administration.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate procurement and inventory records.
