Process & Environmental Safety Engineer I

About the role

This is an entry‑level position for a Process & Environmental Safety Engineer. You will work under the guidance of senior leads to deliver safety‑critical engineering tasks for chemical process projects.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned engineering tasks within defined parameters, budget and schedule.
• Prepare high‑quality deliverables and take full responsibility for your work package.
• Resolve interface issues with other disciplines and collaborate with a team of Process and Safety engineers.
• Manage HAZOP, HAZID and HAZAN reviews and contribute to P&ID reviews.
• Support the design of PSV relief systems, flare networks, emergency isolation, depressurization and explosion‑protection concepts.
• Apply national and international codes and standards to ensure compliance throughout design, construction and operation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 0‑3 years of relevant experience or internship exposure.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team, follow training programs and communicate effectively.

Required skills

• Process safety engineering knowledge.
• PSV relief load calculation and sizing.
• Flare system design and load summarisation.
• SIL study and shutdown system design according to IEC 61511.
• Hazardous area classification and explosion‑protection concepts.
• HAZOP/HAZID/HAZAN management.
• P&ID review and interpretation.
• Familiarity with national and international process safety codes and standards.
