Process Engineer

About the role

As a Process Engineer at Applied Materials you will design and optimize manufacturing processes for advanced semiconductor and display technologies, collecting data, characterizing hardware, and troubleshooting engineering issues.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and qualify semiconductor processes including deposition, etch, epitaxy, and PVD to meet product and customer requirements.
• Design, execute, and analyze Design of Experiments (DOE) to understand process interactions and optimize performance.
• Partner with equipment engineering teams to define hardware requirements and establish risk‑based qualification plans.
• Utilize statistical tools such as JMP and Minitab to evaluate process data and drive data‑driven decisions.
• Collaborate with customers to support demonstrations, process evaluations, and technology benchmarking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of semiconductor process engineering or related experience.
• Strong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis abilities.
• Ability to work effectively across global, cross‑functional teams.
