Principal Technologist – Product Development (R&D)

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a seasoned R&D Principal Technologist to drive product development for its Enterprise Resource Management suite. Based in Hyderabad with a hybrid work model, you will contribute to desktop, cloud, web and mobile applications that support capital project construction and delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Owner, architects and Scrum Team to define and implement solutions for on‑premises and AWS cloud environments.
• Participate in all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives and reviews.
• Write clean, well‑tested C# code, conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Develop and maintain MVVM‑based WPF applications, RESTful or SOAP APIs, and integrate with Oracle, other RDBMS or NoSQL databases.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer‑reported and internal issues, providing robust fixes and enhancements.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices across the team.
• Contribute to the migration of the product toward a cloud‑native architecture.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands‑on software development experience, with strong C# expertise.
• Deep understanding of clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns, data structures and algorithms.
• Proven experience in system design or architectural work.
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile Scrum environment.
