About the role

Join Skillz as a Principal Software Engineer – Front End to lead the design and evolution of the frontend architecture across native Android, iOS, web, and React Native products. You will shape the SDK experience for third‑party game developers and drive high‑impact user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic technical decisions for frontend architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Own development and continuous improvement of native components and the React Native SDK for game developers.
• Mentor lead, senior and mid‑level engineers, raising the technical bar and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
• Optimize performance, accessibility, responsiveness, and interaction design to deliver exceptional user experiences.
• Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools to maintain competitive advantage while balancing risk and velocity.

Required profile

• 12+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Deep expertise in React; experience with Vue or Angular is a plus.
• Proven track record building consumer‑facing mobile experiences via React Native, native iOS/Android, or web clients.
• Strong background in client‑side performance engineering, real‑time UI, and state management at scale.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
