Principal Engineer I Mechanical

About the role

Visteon is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of cockpit electronics products for the automotive industry. You will work in a fast‑paced, globally‑focused environment, contributing to the mobility revolution and supporting the shift to electric and autonomous vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Mechanical design and development of cockpit electronics components and assemblies.
• Provide mechanical support for product releases, changes, and production issues.
• Create and update 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5.
• Conduct tolerance stack‑up analysis, GD&T, feasibility studies, and DFMEA.
• Ensure compliance with Visteon development processes and project milestones.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8–10 years of industry experience in automotive mechanical design.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5 for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, DFM and DFA.
• Experience designing plastic, sheet‑metal, and die‑casting components.
• Fluent in verbal and written English.
