Principal Engineer I – Investment Technology

About the role

Invesco is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to drive the design, development, and delivery of complex investment technology solutions. You will work within a global investment firm, collaborating with product, quality, and operations teams to build robust, scalable systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product management, quality assurance, and operations.
• Drive innovation by researching and applying new technologies and methodologies.
• Ensure solutions meet business requirements and industry standards.
• Participate in code, design, and architecture reviews.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of proven systems development experience.
• Ability to quickly adopt new technologies and work in a constantly changing environment.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑motivated, capable of working with little supervision while being a good team player.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable handling ambiguity and translating business problems into technical solutions.
