Principal Cloud Architect

About the role

Skylo is seeking a Principal Cloud Architect to lead the design and delivery of its global cloud, data, and AI infrastructure. The role sits in the Enterprise Systems & Security team and defines the scalable, secure and cost‑effective foundations that enable hybrid terrestrial‑satellite connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable cloud solutions aligned with Skylo’s global business goals.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure performance and resource utilization across AWS and GCP environments.
• Define and enforce security and compliance controls for cloud assets.
• Lead cost‑optimization initiatives, including rightsizing and eliminating under‑utilized resources.
• Build disaster‑recovery and high‑availability strategies to ensure continuous service.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure management.
• Deep expertise in AWS or GCP ecosystems and large‑scale cloud environments.
• Advanced certifications in AWS or GCP architecture.
• Proven leadership of complex technology projects and mentorship of engineering teams.
• Experience in telecom, satellite or high‑scale IoT domains is a strong plus.
