Principal Analyst – General Ledger Accounting & Financial Reporting

About the role

The Principal Analyst will ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financials, including income statement, balance sheet and cash‑flow analysis for the assigned zone/country. The role also drives the closure of the General Ledger, maintains data quality across ERP accounting, journal entries and reconciliations, and supports compliance with SOX, MICS and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly income statement, balance sheet and cash‑flow schedules, including variance analysis and tax reconciliation.
• Perform manual journal reviews, post entries according to global policy and ensure month‑end GL closure across all sub‑modules.
• Conduct balance‑sheet reconciliations, manage open items and produce FCCS & Cognos reports for senior management.
• Test and close monthly internal controls, coordinating with country, zone and GCC finance teams.
• Participate in global finance projects (e.g., GCOA, FCCS, Cognos flow) and support implementation of process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or MBA) and a professional chartered qualification (ICAI, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.).
• Minimum two years post‑qualification experience in a large‑scale manufacturing environment with group‑level month‑end reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, IND AS, IGAAP, Africa GAAP or UK GAAP and ability to handle multiple legal entities and zones.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and English fluency.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, pivots, calculated fields, conditional formatting, charts, dropdown lists).
• VBA / Excel macro development.
• Experience with ERP systems such as S4Hana or Oracle.
• Proficiency in financial reporting tools: HFM, FCCS and Cognos.
• Ability to work with FCCS/Cognos reporting packs and perform data validation.
