Press Operator – Open Die Forging

About the role

The Press Operator – Open Die Forging is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Gujarat, India. You will operate open‑die forging presses to produce heavy steel components according to schedule and specification.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate open‑die forging presses.
• Monitor press parameters and ensure compliance with forging schedules.
• Coordinate with crane and furnace operators for material handling.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Inspect forged parts, record production data and report deviations.
• Collaborate with quality and maintenance teams to resolve process or equipment issues.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in forging operations.

Required profile

• Strong machine‑operation experience, preferably with forging presses or similar heavy industrial equipment.
• Basic quality‑control skills: measurement, visual inspection, understanding of tolerances and specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine performance and process deviations.
• Capability to read and interpret production drawings, job cards and process documents.
• Relevant technical qualification (ITI, diploma in mechanical or metallurgical field) is preferred.
• Experience in open‑die forging, heavy forging or steel manufacturing is an advantage.
• Willingness to work in a shift‑based environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
