Plant Manager – Hot Forging Plant

About the role

The Plant Manager – Hot Forging Plant will lead all manufacturing operations at our hot forging facility in Pune. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures production targets are met safely, efficiently, and with consistent quality while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and control daily production schedules and shop‑floor activities.
• Optimize resource utilization and coordinate with maintenance, quality, and supply‑chain teams.
• Lead, develop and mentor plant personnel, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Implement lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.
• Manage plant budgets, track KPIs and resolve operational issues.
• Support customer requirements, audits and external certifications.

Required profile

• Solid experience managing plant operations in hot forging, metal forming or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong background in production planning, process optimization and resource management.
• Knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 quality systems and automotive component manufacturing.
• Proficiency in safety management, risk assessment and environmental practices.
• Demonstrated leadership, team supervision and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement and KPI‑driven decision‑making.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, production reports and technical documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production Engineering or related field; advanced qualifications a plus.
