People Operations Partner

About the role

The People Operations Partner provides country‑specific HR operational expertise within a global HR model. Reporting as the Tier 2 operational HR lead for India, you will manage complex employee‑lifecycle activities, ensure compliance with local legislation, and support business change initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the operational HR lead for the assigned country, overseeing contractual changes, leave management, transfers and other lifecycle events.
• Ensure HR processes align with Indian employment law and company standards.
• Support the rollout of global HR initiatives, adapting them to local legislative and operational requirements.
• Coordinate with Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, Finance and external vendors to deliver compliant local services.
• Handle employee‑relations matters such as disciplinary actions, grievances, performance issues and workplace concerns in partnership with managers and HR Business Partners.
• Provide guidance on local employment legislation, policies and operational risk, escalating high‑risk issues to Regional Ops Lead or Legal.
• Maintain compliance with statutory obligations, support audits, and prepare regulatory documentation.
• Identify operational risks and opportunities for process improvement, contributing to documentation and standardisation.
• Assist with the implementation of new HR systems and service‑delivery requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex employee‑lifecycle processes and compliance in an Indian context.
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour law, statutory requirements and HR best practices.
• Proven ability to partner with managers, HR Business Partners and cross‑functional teams.
