Payroll Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead end‑to‑end US and Canada payroll operations from our Hyderabad hub. You will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while driving operational excellence and collaborating with global finance and HR partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage bi‑weekly, semi‑monthly and monthly payroll cycles for the US and Canada, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, benefits and deductions.
• Validate payroll inputs from HR, time‑and‑attendance and finance systems and review registers before finalization.
• Ensure compliance with US Federal & State and Canadian Federal & Provincial payroll regulations, handling W‑2, 1099, T4 and RL‑1 filings.
• Lead, mentor and allocate work for a team of payroll specialists, monitoring performance against SLAs and KPIs.
• Partner with HR, Finance, Legal and global payroll teams; act as primary escalation point.
• Manage relationships with payroll vendors such as ADP and Equifax.
• Identify and implement automation tools to reduce manual effort and improve cycle efficiency.
• Generate payroll reports, variance analysis and dashboards for finance and audit purposes.
• Oversee year‑end activities, ensuring zero compliance issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR or related field (MBA preferred).
• 8–12+ years of payroll experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of US and Canadian payroll regulations and tax filings.
• Proven track record of process improvement and team leadership.

Required skills

• Experience with ADP payroll platform.
• Familiarity with Equifax payroll services.
• Hands‑on use of payroll automation tools.
