P2P Executive - Accounts Payable

About the role

Exponent Energy, a Bengaluru-based EV energy company, is hiring a P2P Executive to work with its Finance team. The team handles reports, audits, business plans and builds financial partnerships with many direct and indirect stakeholders. The role covers accounts payable, vendor management, month-end close and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee invoice processing and transaction verification so vendors and suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
• Manage the accounts payable team, including hiring, training and performance evaluation.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.
• Reconcile accounts payable with general ledger balances and reconcile supplier statements.
• Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, keeping accurate records and control reports.
• Prepare and analyse accounts payable reports and metrics, and assist with financial reporting.
• Handle complex vendor inquiries and disputes, including billing errors and negotiation of adjustments or refunds.
• Coordinate with procurement and receiving to match purchase orders, receipts and invoices.
• Lead the month-end close, prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, and support internal and external audits.
• Drive process improvements, automation and system implementation, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Qualification: CA, CMA, B.Com, M.Com, CA Inter or semi-qualified.
• 7-10 years of experience in finance operations, with a strong focus on accounts payable, invoice processing, payment disbursements, month-end close, reconciliations and vendor management.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
