OT Security Engineer – Industrial Control Systems

About the role

KPMG India is seeking an OT Security Engineer to protect operational technology environments across a range of industrial sectors. You will work closely with plant, IT and security teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of critical control systems such as SCADA, DCS, PLCs and HMIs.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and secure OT/ICS environments, including SCADA, DCS, PLC and HMI systems.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses on OT networks.
• Implement and maintain network segmentation and security controls aligned with ISA/IEC 62443, NIST and other standards.
• Support incident detection and response in OT environments using SIEM tools.
• Collaborate with IT and plant teams to ensure secure integration of IT‑OT systems.
• Assist with patch management and hardening of industrial devices.
• Perform log analysis, threat detection and anomaly identification.
• Participate in security audits, compliance activities and documentation of procedures.

Required profile

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, Profibus).
• Understanding of network security fundamentals such as firewalls, IDS/IPS and VPNs.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Awareness of OT security tools (e.g., Nozomi, Claroty, Dragos) and SIEM platforms.
• Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools like Nessus or Qualys.
