Operations Technician

About the role

Airbound is building the world’s most efficient delivery aircraft and needs skilled field technicians to keep its UAV fleet operational. As an Operations Technician you will perform maintenance, inspections and quick repairs on deployed drones, ensuring safe and on‑time missions.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled and on‑demand field maintenance – battery checks, motor inspections, propeller changes, sensor calibration and harness inspections.
• Perform pre‑flight and post‑flight checks, log findings and flag issues for deeper repair.
• Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, electrical and avionics problems on site, escalating when necessary.
• Manage spares, consumables and tools inventory at deployment sites and raise restock requests.
• Coordinate with pilots, dispatchers and flight‑ops administrators to keep missions on schedule and communicate aircraft status.
• Provide feedback to the manufacturing team by reporting repeat failures observed in the field.
• Travel between deployment locations in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka as required.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience in the UAV/drone industry (assembly, MRO, field operations or service).
• Strong manual dexterity with experience in small‑part repair, soldering, crimping and fastener work.
• Comfort working outdoors in hot, dusty conditions and willingness to be deployed in AP or Karnataka.
• Fluent in Telugu for AP‑based roles (preferably from Guntur, Vijayawada) or willing to relocate to Bangalore (Kannada a plus).
• ITI/Diploma in Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical or related trade is desirable.
• DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate (any class) and exposure to BVLOS or autonomous missions are a plus.
