Metrology Technician

About the role

The Metrology Technician is responsible for ensuring that all measuring equipment used in production and inspection is accurately calibrated, maintained and ready for use. You will work in the plant’s metrology laboratory and standards room, supporting both production and quality teams.

Key responsibilities

• Calibrate, service and repair gauges, measuring instruments and metrology equipment.
• Maintain up‑to‑date calibration records, certificates and equipment history according to defined standards.
• Manage the standards room independently during each shift, ensuring availability of calibrated tools.
• Coordinate with Production and Quality departments to resolve measurement‑related issues.
• Ensure all activities comply with IATF 16949 and Total Quality Management (TQM) requirements.
• Perform hands‑on machining tasks as required for gauge repair and maintenance.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and core quality tools.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with strict quality standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage the standards room during shifts.
• Hands‑on machining experience is mandatory.
