MES Application Engineer – Manufacturing Execution Systems

About the role

We are seeking an MES Application Engineer to design, implement and roll‑out communication standards for our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at Bosch’s Bengaluru facility. The role bridges the gap between production processes and software interfaces, ensuring seamless data exchange with machine suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Create and document a communication concept for MES interfaces based on process flows.
• Define and roll‑out MES standards, specifying events, triggers, data structures and telegram content.
• Validate and review MES interfaces supplied by machine vendors.
• Provide consultancy to suppliers and internal teams on PLC configuration and MES specifications.
• Lead commissioning activities, including pre‑acceptance, final acceptance and pilot phases.
• Coordinate documentation and commissioning efforts with the BWB core team.
• Develop training materials for PLC and MES usage.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, especially SMT and final‑assembly electronics production.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Basic knowledge of IT concepts applied to manufacturing environments.
