Medical Oncologist – Full‑time, On‑site

About the role

The Medical Oncologist will join Apex Hospitals’ Udaipur campus to provide comprehensive cancer care to adult patients. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will diagnose, stage, and treat solid and hematologic malignancies using evidence‑based protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose and manage patients with malignant and hematologic conditions.
• Prescribe, administer and monitor chemotherapy regimens, adjusting doses as needed.
• Collaborate with radiation oncology, surgical, pathology and radiology teams to develop multimodal treatment plans.
• Interpret diagnostic tests, imaging and laboratory results to guide therapy.
• Participate in weekly tumor board meetings and contribute to clinical protocol development.
• Provide counseling to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, side effects and prognosis.
• Engage in quality‑improvement initiatives and mentor junior medical staff.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent with residency in Internal Medicine or related field.
• DM/MD in Medical Oncology or comparable specialist qualification preferred.
• Valid medical license and specialist registration as per Indian regulations.
• Experience in a tertiary or super‑specialty hospital is an advantage.
• Strong clinical decision‑making, attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

Required skills

• Proficiency in chemotherapy regimen selection, dosing and toxicity management.
• Knowledge of supportive care protocols for oncology patients.
• Ability to interpret diagnostic and imaging studies relevant to cancer care.
