Medical Doctor – Full-time Clinical Position

About the role

NIMS Hospital is seeking full‑time, on‑site Medical Doctors to join its multi‑specialty team in Nilambur. The role involves delivering comprehensive clinical care to patients across a range of acute and chronic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
• Perform or supervise medical procedures according to specialty guidelines.
• Monitor patient progress, update medical records, and ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in ward rounds, and contribute to quality‑improvement and infection‑control initiatives.
• Counsel patients and families, adhere to hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
• Engage in continuing medical education, case discussions, and mentor junior medical staff.

Required profile

• Valid MBBS degree; postgraduate qualification (MD/MS/DNB) highly preferred.
• Registration with the appropriate Medical Council and eligibility to practice in the region.
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic abilities for both acute and chronic cases.
• Effective teamwork, clear communication, and compassionate, patient‑centered care.
• Willingness to work shift duties, emergency coverage, and on‑call rotations.
• Commitment to ethical practice, clinical guidelines, and ongoing professional development.
• Experience in a multi‑specialty or secondary/tertiary care hospital is an advantage.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records is beneficial.
• Proficiency in English and local languages is advantageous for patient communication.
