Medical Data Reviewer – Remote

About the role

ICON plc is seeking a Senior Medical Data Reviewer to provide expert medical oversight of clinical trial data on a remote, home‑based basis. You will ensure data accuracy, consistency, and patient safety while supporting complex oncology, neurology, and immunology programmes and mentoring junior colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Medical Lead and Clinical Research Scientist to set up and coordinate the medical data review process.
• Conduct medical review of incremental listings and patient profiles according to the Medical Data Review Plan.
• Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, missing events, and protocol deviations.
• Raise and follow up on medical queries with sites until resolution.
• Document the review process and support database milestones such as interim analyses, DMC meetings, and health‑authority interactions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO, or healthcare as a Medical Data Reviewer, Medical Monitor, or similar role.
• Fundamental knowledge of GCP/ICH guidelines, clinical trial design, and regulatory processes.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication abilities.

Required skills

• Understanding of GCP/ICH compliance.
• Familiarity with clinical trial data review methodologies.
• Ability to interpret large volumes of complex medical data.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis concepts for trend identification.
