Mechanical Service Engineer – AWS Data Centers

About the role

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Mechanical Service Engineer responsible for the operation and maintenance of critical mechanical and HVAC systems in AWS data centers across India. You will ensure continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the facilities, supporting the cloud services that millions rely on.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment (DX units, split AC, ductable AC, VRF, exhaust fans, DAHUs).
• Manage chilled water systems, including chillers, pumps, motorized valves, dampers, actuators, chemical dosing, and make‑up tanks.
• Maintain fire safety systems such as hydrants, sprinklers, and emergency response equipment.
• Conduct generator maintenance (A‑check, B‑check, C‑check, D‑check) and ensure readiness.
• Execute non‑destructive testing (thermography, eddy‑current, ultrasonic) on critical components.
• Implement risk‑management protocols to protect personnel and infrastructure.
• Coordinate with vendors for spare parts, procurement, and technical support.
• Prepare 52‑week preventive maintenance calendars, MOPs, SOPs, and equipment checklists.
• Provide 24x7 on‑call support and rotate shifts as required.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with HVAC, chilled water, fire safety, and generator systems in an industrial or data‑center environment.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 on‑call rotation and respond to emergencies.
• Strong documentation skills for maintenance plans, procedures, and work orders.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and risk‑management practices.
• Effective coordination with vendors and internal teams.
