Mechanical Engineer – Refinery Asset Support

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong refinery experience to provide technical expertise and engineering solutions for assigned assets. You will be the primary point of contact for mechanical integrity, troubleshooting equipment issues and designing repair solutions that meet industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design permanent and temporary repair solutions for refinery equipment such as piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and related assets.
• Apply knowledge of corrosion mechanisms, failure modes and reliability principles to ensure safe and reliable designs.
• Perform fitness‑for‑service assessments and support field troubleshooting for maintenance and operations.
• Ensure compliance with process and personal safety requirements, including Management of Change (MOC).
• Assist maintenance teams with preventive maintenance planning, spares strategy and equipment health monitoring.
• Provide mechanical engineering input during shutdowns, outages and turnaround activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Hands‑on experience working in a refinery environment as a Unit Mechanical Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of refinery equipment including piping, vessels, distillation columns, pumps, heat exchangers, furnaces and valves.

Required skills

• Practical application of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, PCC‑1/PCC‑2.
• Knowledge of API standards: API 570, API 571, API 510, API 579, NBIC.
• Experience recommending inspection techniques (RT, UT, PT, MT).
• Understanding of metallurgy and welding processes.
• Experience with Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
• Familiarity with SAP systems.
