Mechanical Designer

About the role

As a Mechanical Designer you will drive lifecycle management of Philips’ Image Guided Therapy (IGT) systems, ensuring that complex mechanical components and subsystems remain safe, reliable, and compliant throughout their lifecycle. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to translate customer needs into robust mechatronic solutions for advanced medical imaging devices.

Key responsibilities

• Execute multi‑disciplinary analysis and design activities to improve system performance, safety and cost.
• Maintain and verify design documentation, including calculations, FMEA, field data analysis and verification reports.
• Ensure consistent integration of modular subsystems and alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to sourcing strategy, make‑buy decisions, supplier selection and contract management.
• Support new product introduction and product lifecycle activities from requirements to test and integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Biomechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in medical devices.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools, preferably Creo (pro/ENGINEER).
• Strong knowledge of design controls, risk management standards and regulatory requirements (ISO 13485, FDA).
• Experience translating customer needs into technical requirements and delivering mechatronic solutions.
• Professional written and verbal communication in English.
