Material Planner – Supply Chain Operations

About the role

ABB is looking for a Material Planner to join its Smart Building Business in Bangalore. You will own end‑to‑end inventory planning, from purchase requisition to customer invoicing, and support internal customer service queries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complete import and export logistics operations to ensure timely material flow.
• Maintain inventory parameters in SAP ERP using ABC/XYZ analysis and monitor purchase‑order backlogs.
• Expedite orders with suppliers and implement best practices in logistics, stores, and inventory management.
• Prepare and share regular planning and fulfillment reports with business leaders.
• Achieve targets such as SOTD, lead time, DIH and inventory turn ratio.

Required profile

• Collaborative professional with a detail‑oriented, goal‑driven approach.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude, willing to propose solutions for risks and opportunities.

Required skills

• Experience in material planning, S&OP, purchasing and inventory management.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP and ABC/XYZ inventory analysis.
• Knowledge of import/export logistics handling.
• Familiarity with the switchgear and electrical industry (MCBs, wiring accessories, DBs).
