Manager – Financial Controller

About the role

Pepper is seeking a Chartered Accountant to lead its controllership function while driving financial planning, analysis and strategic insights across a fast‑growing AI‑first business. The role combines month‑end close ownership, compliance, FP&A and business performance reporting as the company expands globally.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close, statutory reporting, audits and the compliance calendar end‑to‑end.
• Drive consolidation across entities and geographies, including inter‑company reconciliations and eliminations.
• Design, document and strengthen the internal control framework and maintain an audit‑ready finance data room.
• Manage and optimise Zoho Books, automating reconciliations, reporting and compliance workflows.
• Lead the Annual Operating Plan, monthly forecasting, rolling re‑forecast cycles and driver‑based financial modelling.
• Produce the monthly MIS pack, translate variances into actionable insights and prepare board and investor reporting.
• Analyse unit economics, customer‑level gross margins, NRR, GRR, churn and ROI of sales and marketing investments.
• Build business cases for new programs, pricing initiatives and partner with leadership on strategic projects.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant with 4–6 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong background in controllership, accounting, audit and regulatory compliance.
• Proven ownership of month‑end close processes and statutory reporting.
• Experience building and mentoring high‑performing accounting teams.
