Maintenance Technician – Preventive & Corrective

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures safe, reliable and efficient operation of plant machinery and equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance. You will work on a variety of high‑speed and packaging machines in a food‑production environment, following strict safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive and breakdown maintenance on main and auxiliary equipment, recording work completion as required.
• Execute skilled repairs, lubricate machines according to schedule, and coordinate spare parts from stores.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls to maximise machine availability and minimise downtime.
• Maintain high‑speed machines such as separators, Bactofuge, decanters, high‑pressure pumps, mills, fans and blowers, as well as packaging equipment.
• Follow SOPs, wear required PPE and observe hygiene practices for food‑production areas.
• Identify and stop leakages, escalating when isolation or production stoppage is needed.
• Comply with ISO and HACCP requirements, participate in audits, documentation and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical engineering or an ITI (Fitter/Welding) associate degree.
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in industrial or plant maintenance.
• Ability to read technical drawings, manuals and maintenance documentation.
• Practical knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance methods.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance systems, documentation and reporting.
• Reliable, responsible and capable of working independently in a physically demanding plant environment.
