Maintenance Specialist – Equipment & Facility Maintenance

About the role

ABB is looking for a Maintenance Specialist to lead the upkeep and optimisation of equipment, production lines and facilities within the Motion business of the High Power division in Vadodara, India. You will ensure reliability, safety and efficiency while supporting the company’s lean and clean industrial goals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of plant equipment and test‑plant assets.
• Collaborate with production and project teams to define preventive‑maintenance plans and improve reliability, maintainability and safety.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, spare‑parts inventories and critical‑spare lists.
• Diagnose and resolve major technical issues to boost line performance and equipment OEE.
• Lead improvement projects aimed at reducing maintenance downtime and enhancing energy efficiency.
• Respond to emergencies, breakdowns and malfunctions to minimise production disruption.
• Implement health‑and‑safety procedures, including LOTO and PPE usage.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.

Required profile

• 5‑10 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Proven ability to manage technical documentation and spare‑parts inventories.
• Experience with ISO compliance, safety regulations and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
