Mainframe Architect

About the role

The Mainframe Architect will lead the design and implementation of enterprise‑wide mainframe solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals, security standards, and operational efficiency. This senior technical role collaborates closely with executive management and cross‑functional teams to drive strategic initiatives across infrastructure, migration, and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in planning and support for infrastructure, security, migration, policies, standards, training and operations.
• Lead enterprise planning and implementation, including vendor assessment, technology selection, product acquisition, prioritization, system integration and service delivery.
• Advise executive management on technology‑related matters and strategic direction.
• Develop, define, promote and manage complex strategic solutions and offerings, combining business, solutions, sales and marketing expertise.
• Research and monitor trends in healthcare, technology, legal, regulatory environments and competition.
• Produce formal technical documentation such as design documents, specifications, data‑flow diagrams and support diagrams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in large‑scale mainframe design and documentation.
• Proven background in formal project management and delivery of strategic solutions.
• Multiple trade certifications or continuing education in relevant technologies.
• Strong ability to stay informed of industry trends and regulatory changes.

Required skills

• Online and batch programming using appropriate mainframe languages.
• Technical documentation and specification writing.
• Formal project management.
