Localization Engineer – Phone, PC & Tablet (Mid‑Senior)

About the role

We are looking for a Mid to Senior level Localization Engineer to support phone, PC and tablet products for a leading multinational telecommunications client. You will own the day‑to‑day localization tooling, automate workflows and ensure that UI strings and app content are ready for global release.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze and process UI strings, app content and resource files for localization across phone, PC and tablet platforms.
• Operate and extend localization tooling, writing thin Python or Shell wrappers as needed.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) that drive end‑to‑end localization workflows.
• Author and maintain jobs for string extraction, validation, builds and delivery.
• Troubleshoot routine failures in CI, client tooling, APIs and data layers, escalating only major design changes.
• Collaborate with linguists, project managers and platform engineers to integrate localized assets.
• Validate localized builds, layouts and device displays across multiple languages and locales.
• Use Git from the command line daily for branching, merging, conflict resolution and pull‑request management.
• Apply AI‑assisted tools to accelerate scripting, debugging and documentation.
• Maintain clear documentation of workflows, tools and standards.
• (Senior) Guide engineering standards, mentor team members and help plan automation road‑maps.

Required profile

• Mid to Senior level experience in localization engineering.
• Strong command‑line skills (Python, Shell/Bash/PowerShell).
• Hands‑on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions and Git/Gerrit.
• Familiarity with Windows, Ubuntu, Android and iOS platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot encoding, formatting and build issues.
• Experience applying AI‑assisted development practices.
