Job description
About the role
We are looking for a highly experienced Process Engineer to lead the design, optimisation and maintenance of liquid‑cooling systems in our manufacturing facility. The role focuses on chilled water and glycol circuits used in high‑reliability environments such as data centres, pharmaceutical plants or food‑processing lines.
Key responsibilities
- Optimise existing cooling and fluid‑handling processes to improve efficiency, reliability, safety and sustainability.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies in production and cooling workflows.
- Design, configure and monitor process performance during manufacturing and operational phases.
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, schematics and conceptual layouts of pumps, compressors, chillers, CDUs, sensors and valves.
- Implement process improvements to reduce energy consumption, fluid waste and operational costs.
- Monitor key parameters (pressure, temperature, flow rate, glycol concentration) via Building Management System and ensure compliance with thresholds.
- Analyse process data to identify trends, predict failures and support preventive‑maintenance strategies.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance plan for all process‑related assets.
- Collaborate with EHS teams to create SOPs for safety, leak mitigation, waste disposal and fluid handling.
- Conduct Critical‑to‑Quality analyses and risk assessments for all process steps.
- Own the lifecycle of process equipment, including monitoring, troubleshooting and servicing.
- Support commissioning and validation of new cooling systems and upgrades.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of post‑graduate experience in process engineering with a focus on chilled water/glycol systems.
- Proven experience in data‑center, pharmaceutical, food‑processing or distillery environments.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat‑transfer principles.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards and regulatory compliance.
Required skills
- Process control systems and instrumentation.
- Sensor technologies and monitoring via BMS.
- DMAIC methodology and root‑cause analysis.
- Continuous‑improvement techniques.
- P&ID creation and schematic design.
- SCADA platform experience.
- Knowledge of ASHRAE guidelines for data‑center thermal management.
- CFD modelling or thermal‑simulation tools.
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Experience with immersion or direct‑to‑chip liquid‑cooling technologies.
