Legal Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Manager to lead litigation and regulatory compliance for boAt. The role combines strategic risk management with hands‑on execution, ensuring the company’s interests are protected while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all litigation matters, including civil, commercial, consumer, labour, tax and counterfeit enforcement.
• Draft, review and vet pleadings, notices and other legal documents.
• Coordinate with external counsel, law firms and regulatory authorities, maintaining litigation trackers and MIS.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, industry standards and statutory requirements across areas such as Consumer Protection, Data Privacy, Labour, BIS, Customs and E‑Waste.
• Develop and implement internal compliance policies, SOPs and monitoring mechanisms; conduct risk assessments and audits.
• Provide strategic advice on litigation strategy and regulatory risks, supporting business teams with preventive actions.
• Drive legal awareness across functions to foster a compliance‑first culture.

Required profile

• LLB from a reputed institute; LLM preferred.
• 8–12 years of post‑qualification experience in litigation and regulatory compliance.
• Prior in‑house corporate legal experience in FMCG, FMCD or Consumer Electronics.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of litigation processes, commercial laws and regulatory frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience managing litigation portfolios and compliance programmes.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy abilities.
• Effective stakeholder management with leadership, external counsel and government agencies.
• Analytical mindset with proactive problem‑solving.
